There are days when it’s difficult to find inspiration for your current project. So, where do you turn when the creative juices need a jump start?
We’ve put together a list of websites where you can find all types of information on design trends, find inspiration, and more!
1). siteInspire
This website is run by Daniel Howells from Howells Studio. Here, you’ll find a wide range of websites to fire up your creative spirit. We like this site because it’s easy to find the inspiration you need. This is because the site uses a tagging system that can be search by subject or specific style.
When you land on the site, look at the tags under the “Websites” heading. You’ll find:
- Styles
- Types
- Subjects
- Platforms
- fonts
Clicking the down arrow next to any of these choices opens up an entire tag field. You’ll be amazed at the sheer number of topics covered. We’re sure you’ll find this an extremely useful site when you need some design ideas.
2). Awwwards
If you’re looking for some edgy website design ideas, then look no further than Awwwards. The reason we recommend this site is because it features the highest quality, distinctive web design available.
This site gives awards to the best web designers, developers and agencies around the world. They have comprised a panel of hand-picked specialists who are some of the most important designers, creative directors, bloggers and agencies in the industry. They work to assess submitted websites every day.
The panel’s choices are based on each website’s design, creativity, easy of use, and content. Each of these categories receives a score. When the panel’s evaluation is finished, they add up the score from each category for an overall score.
Here, too, searching the site is easy as they use tags and terms to organise elements, colours, industry, and more.
3). Best Website Gallery
This site was started back in 2008 by David Hellmann, and he continues to run the site on his own. He works on curating a personal bookmark collection of some of the best websites online. This is an excellent place to find inspiration.
We like this site because Hellmann has included such a broad variety of websites. He also makes us of an extensive tagging system, so you can find information quickly. You can even filter sites by colour.
4). Land-Book
Land-book’s site has been created for designers, developers, and more. The site has created a gallery where you can find inspiration on design and beautiful sites. The site presents a curated collection of the best landing pages across many industries. And you’ll find a broad range of inspiration in different categories—from landing pages, portfolios, and more.
Another great feature of this site is that you can create a free account on the site, and then use it to save collections of designs. We found this a great place to feed our creative spirits.
5). Behance Discover Page
Behance’s discover page is a designer’s dream, where you’ll surely find the creativity you seek. This site makes it easy to search through their massive website gallery. Just use the search functions at the top of the page, under the search bar, which include:
- Web Design
- Tools
- Color
- Location
- Schools
You can also sort the search results using the filters on the right. Choose to search by timeframe, popularity, location, and more.
Behance is a part of the Adobe family and is one of the largest active creative communities in the world. This gives you tons of inspiration from all around the world, plus it’s easy to search for specific information on just about any facet of web design.
6). Dribble
Dribble says they’re on a mission to “build one of the world’s best community for creatives to share, grow and get hired.” The site is geared to help designers become noticed and receive feedback on their creations. Plus, it’s a great place to find inspiration when your creativity is running low.
This is another site that offers a ton of website designs, making this a great resource for designers. Dribble makes it easy to search using the filters at the top of their page. You can find ideas on everything from UX design to web development, and more.
7). Designinspiration
When you check out Designinspiration’s site, you’ll see it’s a bit like Pinterest, and it’s must as massive. And similar to Pinterest, this is a site where you can curate personal lists of sites that inspire. And it changes the feed based on your preferences.
Designinsiration makes it easy to search—use the search bar at the top of the page, or just explore. You’ll find a world of inspiring designs here, which you can easily save directly on the site after creating a free account.
8). Pinterest
Talking about Pinterest, this may not be the first site you’d think of when searching for web design inspiration. While the site is filled with everything from recipes, fashion, and more, it’s also a great site to spur creative ideas for web designers.
The site features an easy to use search bar using specific design terms, and you can curate a personal collection of website designs that inspire. To use this site, you’ll need to sign up for a free account, and then have fun searching for design ideas.
9). The Great Discontent
The Great Discontent uses a different method to inspire designers. Instead of providing galleries to view, this site provides motivational stories and Q&As with designers, art directors, and more. You’ll learn about the humans in these stories, their struggles, and how they find inspiration when it’s running low.
What a great way to fire up your career, gain insights into new directions, and more. You’ll find interviews that are created in digital, print, short features, film, pod casts, and even events. You’ll gain knowledge and insights and fill your creative well at the same time.
There you have it—some creative, innovative websites for web designers who need to fan that creative spark.
