As well as being good for potential customers, online reviews are also a key factor in how well you rank in local search (e.g. “web design Leeds” or “dog groomers Bradford”). The better and more reviews you have, the more positively you will rank. If you want to learn what else you can do to improve your local search rankings find our guide here.
How do I get online reviews?
Google reviews
Google reviews should be your priority as these appear when you appear in search results (especially on mobile and in maps). Ask all of your past clients and customers and any other companies that you may have worked in partnership with. They can either Google your name and leave a review there or you can remove this hassle by creating a direct link. People will be able to click the link and leave a review directly – create one here: https://supple.com.au/tools/google-review-link-generator/
Facebook reviews
Facebook reviews are really useful too, giving visitors to your social media pages a good impression. Google also takes in to account Facebook reviews when calculating your local SEO rankings. Encourage your customers to leave reviews and share these with their friends and family!
Website reviews
If you haven’t already, it’s a really good idea to take the best of your online and offline reviews and display them on your website. These won’t necessarily count towards your search rankings but they provide validation and build trust with any new visitors. If you can display 5-10 personalised reviews on your website potential customers will read them before purchasing your products or services.
